The Mátyás Király Zither Ensemble launched 8 years ago in 2009 as part of the Mátyás Király Elementary School in Kecskemét, Hungary. Their aim is to cherish the Hungarian culture and heritage. By 2014 and 2015 the young the young ensemble was winning Gold Awards on a regular basis at National Folk Music Competitions.  They have appeared at numerous prestegious events and festivals around Hungary and Transylvania, such as The Székely Vágta, Sepsiszentgyörgy, Székelyland and The Annual Dancehouse Conference in Budapest
The Mátyás Király Zither Ensemble are the specials guests of our partner organisation Zsigmond Király School, who run Hungarian cultural activities every saturday at Z Arts, Manchester for young people and the community.  At Góbéfest, they will be holding worshops and demonstrations in their unique folk instruments,  common in Hungarian folk music, such as the zither, the koboz or lute, the kaval and several pipes.
