Simona Furdui UK/RO

I am a professional opera singer and vocal coach born in a small town in  Romania- Simeria. I graduated ‘’The Gheorghe Dima Conservatoire’’ in Performance with a  BA and MA degree.  

I have  performed in over 500 concerts across Europe. My opera repertoire includes several representative lyrical soprano roles: Marguerite (Ch. Gounod, Faust), Rosalinde (J. Strauss, Die Fledermaus), Michaela (G. Biset, Carmen), Mimi (G. Puccini, La Bohème Donna Ana and Donna Elvira (W. M. Mozart, Don Giovanni) , Adina (G. Donizzetti, The Elixir of Love). I also coach other styles, such as lied-oratorio, vocal-symphonic, Musical Theatre, Cafe-concert, jazz and pop-opera. 

In 2009 I won the golden Trophy on the international competition – ‘’The Golden Chrysanthemum’’-Romania.

I have recorded and published 3 Libris Brasov CDs: De dragul tau (lyrical pieces), 2008; Sa petrecem impreuna (Romanian party classics), 2009; and Cantec pentru noaptea sfanta (Christmas carols), 2010.   

My teaching career has developed alongside my singing career, and I can say I love teaching as much as I love singing. I’m been teaching Classical Singning as a Senior Lecturer at University of Music, Oradea, Romania since 2011 when I left the country.

I was the Project Coordinator of four major musical projects (''The Past, The Present and The Future''; ''The Children Opera Studio'', ''From Heart To Heart'' edition 1 and 2) under Bihor County Council in collaboration with Oradea Philharmonic, aimed promoting opera to the younger generation (2006-2010)
