Simona Furdui & Robert Chesters UK/RO

I am a professional opera singer and vocal coach born in a small town in  Romania- Simeria. I graduated ‘’The Gheorghe Dima Conservatoire’’ in Performance with a  BA and MA degree.  

I have  performed in over 500 concerts across Europe. My opera repertoire includes several representative lyrical soprano roles: Marguerite (Ch. Gounod, Faust), Rosalinde (J. Strauss, Die Fledermaus), Michaela (G. Biset, Carmen), Mimi (G. Puccini, La Bohème Donna Ana and Donna Elvira (W. M. Mozart, Don Giovanni) , Adina (G. Donizzetti, The Elixir of Love). I also coach other styles, such as lied-oratorio, vocal-

symphonic, Musical Theatre, Cafe-concert, jazz and pop-opera. 

In 2009 I won the golden Trophy on the international competition – ‘’The Golden Chrysanthemum’’-Romania.

I have recorded and published 3 Libris Brasov CDs: De dragul tau (lyrical pieces), 2008; Sa petrecem impreuna (Romanian party classics), 2009; and Cantec pentru noaptea sfanta (Christmas carols), 2010.   

My teaching career has developed alongside my singing career, and I can say I love teaching as much as I love singing. I’m been teaching Classical Singning as a Senior Lecturer at University of Music, Oradea, Romania since 2011 when I left the country.

I was the Project Coordinator of four major musical projects (''The Past, The Present and The Future''; ''The Children Opera Studio'', ''From Heart To Heart'' edition 1 and 2) under Bihor County Council in collaboration with Oradea Philharmonic, aimed promoting opera to the younger generation (2006-2010)

Robert Chesters

Robert Chesters, from Liverpool has been a pianist from the age of five. In 2002 he was awarded the "People to People" scholarship to Lakewood, Colorado, where he performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Lakewood Symphony Orchestra. While studying at the Royal Northern College of Music with John Gough, Robert was awarded a Bachelor of Music degree with Honours in July 2007, and graduated from the RNCM in September 2008 with a Master of Music in Performance.

In addition to teaching piano, Robert performs with instrumentalists, solo singers and choirs. Robert accompanies for Sefton Schools Music Service, and is the official accompanist for the Liverpool Philharmonic Melody Makers and Children's Choir. Robert also works as the repetiteur for Opera Viva Merseyside including their forthcoming production of La Boheme, and since 2020 he has worked on various TV and film productions with Face Management in Leeds.
