Góbéfest Named Finalist at Manchester Culture Awards 2026

Date: October 5, 2026

We’re delighted to announce that Beat Bazaar: Góbéfest has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Cultural Welcome Award category at the Manchester Culture Awards 2026 a particularly special achievement as we celebrate our 10th anniversary year.

The Manchester Culture Awards celebrate the outstanding arts, cultural and creative activity taking place across the city, recognising the people, groups and organisations that contribute to Manchester’s vibrant cultural landscape and make a positive difference to people’s lives.

Being shortlisted for the Cultural Welcome Award means a great deal to us. Since its beginnings, Góbéfest has been about bringing people together and creating a welcoming space where different cultures and traditions can be shared, discovered and celebrated.

Over the past decade, Góbéfest has brought the music, dance, food, crafts and traditions of Transylvania, the Carpathian Basin and Central and Eastern Europe to the heart of Manchester. The festival has grown into a colourful annual celebration, welcoming performers, communities and audiences from Manchester and beyond.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all our artists, performers, volunteers, partners, funders, supporters and audiences who have helped make Góbéfest what it is today. This recognition belongs to the whole Góbéfest community. ❤️

We’re incredibly proud to be among this year’s finalists and look forward to celebrating Manchester’s remarkable cultural and creative community at the Manchester Culture Awards 2026.
